Pausing vs. Deactivating a User on Zingage
Last updated: August 25, 2025
Managing user access on Zingage is an important part of keeping your caregiver roster accurate and secure. Whether someone is going on temporary leave or permanently leaving your agency, Zingage provides two options to manage their account: Pausing and Deactivating.
Here's a breakdown of how each one works and when to use them.
⏸ Pausing a User
When to use it:
For temporary cases—such as vacation, medical leave, or short-term absences.
What it does:
Immediately revokes the user’s access to Zingage
Halts all point-earning activities, including visits and goal tracking
Suspends any upcoming birthday or work anniversary rewards
Prevents access to Zingage and blocks the ability to redeem points
Note: The user's data is preserved and fully restored once the account is unpaused.
👉 Recommended for temporary leave scenarios.

❌ Deactivating a User
When to use it:
For permanent cases—such as resignations, terminations, or long-term departures.
What it does:
The caregiver's Zingage account becomes inactive 24 hours after their profile is marked inactive in your agency’s system (WellSky, AxisCare, AlayaCare, etc.)
They stop earning points for visits and goals
Their access to Zingage is blocked 24-28 hours after their agency profile is deactivated
They are automatically removed from all associated employee groups
Important:
You can pause and then deactivate a user if you need to immediately revoke access before the 24-hour sync completes.
👤 What Happens to Their Data?
Even after deactivation:
The user’s data and points balance are preserved in Zingage
They cannot access or redeem their points unless the same agency account is reactivated
Zingage does not delete user history or performance records
⚠ If a User Reaches Out to Zingage About Access
Whether the user was paused or deactivated, the Zingage team will inform them that their account is deactivated and redirect them to the agency for further clarification.
