Admin View on Troubleshooting Gift Card Redemption Issues

If a user reports an error while trying to redeem a gift card, don’t worry — here are the most common causes and how to fix them.
🛑 “Budget Limit Reached” Message
Caregivers may see this message if your agency’s monthly redemption cap has been hit — even if your wallet has available funds. It looks like this:

What this means:
Your wallet has a total balance, but there's a monthly cap on how much can be redeemed for the month.
These limits are in place to help manage your reward budget across the month.
✅ You can view or adjust your monthly limit from the Settings > Reward Balance > Redemption Limit.
💳 Wallet Balance vs. Redemption Availability
Here’s how it works:
Wallet Balance = Total funds available for caregiver redemptions
Redemption Limit = Max amount allowed per time period (e.g. per month)
When the redemption limit is reached, redemptions pause even if money remains in the wallet.
🧠 How to Check and Adjust Limits
In the Admin Portal
Select Settings
Click on Reward Balance
You’ll see your:
Wallet balance
transaction History of redemptions for the month
Other tabs including the Redemption limit Tab
Go to the Redemption Limit tab to raise the limit:
You may increase your limit by first deleting the existing one and placing a new limit there.
🧾 Other Common Errors
Error Message/Issue | Likely Cause | What to Do |
“Error 500” | Wallet depleted or agency wallet recharge failed | Top up your wallet, add, or change the payment method and charge it to refill the wallet. |
Not enough funds in the wallet | The agency's wallet has less than $50 in the balance | The agency's wallet should always be able to accommodate the highest gift card amount of $50. Any less than that may cause redemption issues if the caregiver is attempting to redeem more than what is in the balance. Ensure your recharge threshold is $50. |
🗓 When Will It Reset?
If you’re using a monthly budget cap, redemptions will automatically resume:
On the first day of the next month, or
After a manual reset/update by your team or Zingage support

FAQ's
Why am I only able to redeem $50?
Even though you have more than 5,000 points in your balance, you can only redeem up to $50 on ZIngage, this is the highest gift card value offered on Zingage. To redeem more than $50, you'd need to make more than one redemption.
