How does payment work for employee point redemptions?
Last updated: August 8, 2025
Context
When employees earn points through the Zingage platform, they can redeem these points for gift cards. Some customers may be concerned about how the payment process works and whether their payment method will be charged for each redemption.
Answer
Redemptions are handled through your agency's Rewards Balance in the Zingage wallet, not by charging your payment card directly. Here's how it works:
Your agency maintains a pre-funded Rewards Balance in their Zingage wallet
When an employee redeems points for a gift card, the cost is deducted from this wallet balance
If there are insufficient funds in the wallet, redemptions will not be processed and the caregiver will receive an Error 500.
To manage redemption costs, you can set up:
Individual redemption limits per caregiver
Shared redemption limits across all caregivers
Threshold settings that automatically recharge your wallet when the balance gets low. The threshold should always be $50.
You can manage these settings in two places:
Rewards Balance Settings - View and manage your wallet balance
Redemption Limits Settings - Set up and adjust redemption limits
