How does timely clock-in and clock-out work for earning points?
Last updated: November 19, 2025
Zingage awards points for timely clock-ins and clock-outs based on your agency's specific settings and policies. The app uses your visit data to determine if you've met the requirements for earning points.
Understanding Timely Clock-In/Clock-Out Rules
The specific time window for what counts as "timely" depends on your agency's policies. Many agencies use a minute window ( for example 7 minutes before to 7 minutes after your scheduled shift times), but this can vary by employer.
To earn points for timely attendance, you must clock in and out within your agency's designated time window. You can find out your agency's goal rules by clicking the 'How to Earn Your Goals on Zingage' button in the Goals tab:

Early Clock-Outs and Special Circumstances
Zingage cannot automatically account for special circumstances like being sent home early by a client, even if you have approval from your office. The app only uses your visit data and your agency's Zingage settings to award points accurately.
If you clock out outside the designated time window for any reason (including being sent home early), you will not receive points for that visit, regardless of whether the early departure was approved.
Best Practices
Check with your agency about their specific timely clock-in/clock-out policies
Document any special circumstances (like early dismissals) in the app's notes section
Contact your supervisor or trainer if you have questions about how your agency's policies work with Zingage
Remember that Zingage awards points based on completing visits according to the rewards your agency has configured in the system.
